Top 5 Best Razor Pro Scooters [2021]

There are many reasons why Razor is the number one brand when it comes to all types of rides whether electric, kick, off-road, pro stunt, and even other small riding equipment. Razor riding products are fun to ride and their prices are hard to beat.

Razor is the best-selling brand of scooters online and tens of thousands of customers can’t be wrong. Their products are used not only by kids but also by adults who want total comfort and fun. Their products can be seen at schools, parks, malls, and even workplaces. People use their scooters in both recreation and daily commuting.

In this article, we will introduce to you the best pro scooters and also other best Razor products so you can choose which Razor product is the best for you.

What is a Pro Scooter?

A pro scooter is a special kick scooter used in stunts and exhibitions especially on skateparks. They are built for total strength and durability that can withstand heavy impacts. Razor pro scooter frames and decks are built mostly of aircraft-grade aluminum and steel alloys providing total strength. Their frames, t-bars, and handlebars are usually thicker and heavier compared to ordinary kick scooters and they have smaller polyurethane wheels.

Some pro scooter models can also be used in daily commuting especially those with advanced compression and shock systems. Because pro scooters are built for heavy impacts, their T-bar heights are not adjustable and the forks are non-foldable. They also have smaller but thicker anti-slip decks.

Since stunts, flipping, high-jumping, and exhibitions are common when riding on Razor scooters, safety is the most important thing. This set of protective gear is a must before you think of bringing your scooter into a skatepark and showcase your skills to other people. It will be an extremely embarrassing experience if you fall and hurt yourself while many eyes are pointing at you. Regardless of whether you are alone or together with your friends, you don’t want yourself to get hurt and embarrassed.

The most common injuries are elbow, knee scratches, and even broken bones when you fall, out balanced, and hit hard on the ground. If you are not wearing a set of safety fear, the injury can be serious.

The JBM Child & Adults Rider Series Protection Gear Set for Multi-Sports Scooter is designed for hard impact protection and used by extreme riders. Whether you or your child is timid or daredevil on two wheels sports, this protection gear set would be on your must-have list. Learning two wheels sports will be a disaster for your child and for you as well. Falling down is kind of normal when they keep trying the basic or advanced move. If you or your kids wear this helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads, wrist guards, you will have the protection to allow yourself and your child to be more confident during practice or actual stunt.

A minor elbow or knee scratches could result in infection and scar that could be a problem for life so don’t deprive yourself or your kid of this basic but essential safety gear.

People usually Ask these Questions about Pro Scooters

Are Pro Scooters better than Common Kick Scooters?

This is one of the most common questions I received mostly from people who have been riding on ordinary kick scooters. Most of them are wondering what is the big advantage of a stunt kick over a normal kick.

These two rides are different in many ways. Pro scooters are designed to handle impacts due to different styles of riding and they are built for strength. They have solid wheels, solid frames and decks, and fixed handlebars. Ordinary kick scooters built for daily commuting have big wheels and are not as strong as the former.

Some stunt scooters can also be used on daily commuting though especially if you have a paved road between your house and work or school. Here are some of the most obvious differences between the two.

  • Stunt scooters are stronger, heavier, and more durable than normal kick scooters.
  • They are specifically made for extreme ridings like exhibitions and stunts so they have stronger frames, decks, and small but solid wheels.
  • They are usually more expensive than usual kick scooters.
  • Most freestyle scooters have non-adjustable and non-foldable T-bars and handlebars.

Are Stunt Scooters Safe?

All personal mobility vehicles have safety issues when the rider is not trained or inexperienced. Having said so, stunt scooters could inflict more injuries compared to ordinary daily commuting Razor A kick scooters because of the activity and riding styles. Remember that freestyle scooters are built to be used in skateboard tracks where exhibitions are being done. Of course, people who are doing acrobatics and doing circus-stuff-like activities are prone to accidents compared to people who are commuting to work or school.

It’s called a “pro scooter” for a reason. Meaning, only professionals and people who love extremes should ride on it when doing exhibitions and running through skateboard parks. Safety gear is always required when using a freestyle ride. A skateboard track is a place for all types of injuries so if you want to make sure that you are safe, wear a helmet, elbow and knee pads, and even protective gloves.

Are Freestyle Scooters only for Young People?

People of different ages, teens or adults, enjoy riding on any mobility rides. Skate parks are not just for kids and youths but for everyone. Sometimes older people tend to show up their skills too. Stunt scooters are designed for heavy-duty and extreme usage and they can carry adult weight too.

Although the majority of people playing on tracks are teens, razor scooters are for everyone who wants to enjoy the ride and exhibitions. Adult people do it for both recreation, exercise, and thrill-seeking.

Do I need to Know How to Use a Kick Scooter Before Buying a Pro Kick?

Any type of two-wheel vehicle is easy to ride and there is not really a prerequisite to buying razor scooters. If you are motivated and inspired by other people you see playing on tracks and want to buy your own then do it. Just make sure not to try something that you can’t do like running and kicking fast and flipping. Do only what your body allows you to do. Leave the heavy stunts and exhibition to experts. Some people want to emulate other people flipping only to be injured.

But if your plan is to use the toy for both daily commuting and exhibition, then a razor pro is for you. You can’t do stunts on a normal daily commuter model so you better start with a freestyle model. Just make sure you know the difference between the two.

How to Maintain a Razor Pro Kick Scooter?

If you already own a kick scooter other than a Razor Pro, you should’ve known this but if not, continue reading.

Like many other rides, freestyle models have movable parts like wheels and bearings on T-bars that need maintenance. Here’s how to care for and maintain your Razor Pro.

  • Always keep your Razor scooters indoors like inside the garage or in your room. Different weather conditions could expedite the wear and tear of your Razor scooter pro if you leave it outside without cover.
  • Always check the wheels and bearings before you use them, especially after doing exhibitions on the skatepark. If you are a heavy user means you are doing high-impact landings. Wheels could be broken so better check every moving part before using it again. A small crack could lead to a bigger accident when left unnoticed.
  • Always check for loose and nuts. My friend had a serious leg injury after the brake malfunction due to a missing bolt.
  • Clean your scooter before long storage. If there is mud and dirt, clean it with water and wipe it dry. Oil the moving parts before using your equipment again.
  • Replace any non-conforming parts. Using a scooter with defective parts could cause injuries. You should check everything, especially after long storage.

Doing all of the above steps will not only ensure safety but can also prolong the life of your equipment. Sometimes, repairs are more expensive than buying a new one.

I Want a Freestyle Ride that is Adjustable and Foldable. Is this possible?

Right now I can’t seem to find a freestyle model for adults that is foldable and adjustable, especially for the Razor pro as the company produces only folding models for daily commuting kick scooters. There are some but for teens up to 5’5 in height. The reason is that pro scooters are made for hard impact and if the product is foldable and adjustable, they may break, or the joints may easily become loose.

If you really want a custom pro scooter then you must contact companies that build custom products. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a specific builder but a quick Google search would give you some ideas

I know a number of friends who own custom freestyle models. There are also some companies who sell parts with manuals on how to assemble them yourself. Other people are also doing it. Ttr to search YouTube and you will see a lot of custom-made pro kick scooters.

Are Pro Scooters Repairable? Are there any Replacement Parts for these Rides?

All types of scooters are repairable and parts are replaceable and stunt models are no different. The most common parts that are frequently replaced are the wheels and bearings, including the brake mechanisms. This is understandable because the wheels are the ones that absorb all the heavy beating and hard impacts. Another part is the bearings on the T-bar and also the rear brake.

These parts are always available online or in your local skates and scooters stores. Some stores also offer repair services. If you are worried that you don’t know how to replace a certain part then you better contact your nearest shop. Scooters are easy to repair especially if you have needed replacement parts.

Conclusion

Although pro scooters are built for heavy-duty usage, proper care and handling are still needed to prolong its life. If you value your equipment and money, ride properly and responsibly. I saw a lot of people on tracks having their rides broken into pieces because they want to achieve something they can’t do like trying to jump into a very deep slope – the result is always a disaster; either a broken bone or a broken scooter. As mentioned, these toys are classified according to their uses. If you need it for your daily commute then you should not buy a pro and buy a normal kick instead.

Unlike normal kicks, the pro scooters’ prices are diverse. There are some cheap and there are four times more expensive than the cheapest. There are many reasons why there is a big difference in their prices. Models, quality, designs, colors, etc contributed to the price factor. Select only what is best for you and what you can afford. At the end of the day, no money is worth paying for your enjoyment! But of course, if you have extra money, buying the most durable one is suggested as this type of toy is designed to last.

Lastly, when buying a Razor pro for kids who are just starting to learn stunt and freestyle scooting, price and quality are the two things you must consider. There are many expensive models but offer the same quality as other brands that are cheaper. Money is hard to find so spend wisely! Razor is the best scooter brand out there so before thinking of other brands if you still are not convinced with our Razor scooter reviews, do thorough research and you will again find out that Razor is really the number one brand! There are many brands but reviews and feedback from the people who already bought and tested the products are always helpful!
